This is probably a really stupid question but what does 420 friendly mean?

I really don't need to add to my question it is what it is. Hope i don't look to stupid but look forward to knowing.

    it's supposed to signify the "weed smoking hour" 4:20. apparently it is also supposed to represent hitler's bday
